This morning’s CPI report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that inflation declined 0.1% in December to a year-over-year rate of 6.5%. While the headline data suggests the Fed’s efforts to wrangle inflation are paying off, the cost of shelter rose 0.8% and continues to put upward pressure on prices.
Boston comes in at #12 on Yahoo’s list of heavily populated cities where home prices fell the most in 2022.
CNBC reports refinancing demand is surging as homeowners look to take advantage of lower interest rates.
